King of Hearts

Tommy Funderburk and Bruce Gaitsch are the founding members of the band  King Of Hearts  who individually have enjoyed successful careers as songwriters and studio musicians for many years. If you listen to Rock and Pop songs on the radio from the 80’s thru today, you’ll hear them all the time. From Boston to Eagles, to Whitesnake and Michael Jackson; Airplay, Michael McDonald, Motley Cru, Pat Benatar, Madonna, Rick Springfield, Roger Waters, Chicago, Celine Dion, Heart, Yes and many others -even Spinal Tap! They have produced, played, written and sung on countless number one hits. Bruce has had several hits for artists, including the number one song “La Isla Bonita” for Madonna and “It Don’t Mean Nothin” for Richard Marx and Tommy had a big hit with Starship called “It’s Not Enough.” While Bruce continued writing hits for other artists and toured with Richard Marx and Peter Cetera, Tommy first founded his own record label (Sovereign Artists) and then created a fan and artist friendly technology company that helps copyright owners connect directly to their fans (Muzit).

Of all their individual success, Tommy and Bruce are most proud of their band,  King Of Hearts whose original lineup included members Timothy B. Schmidt (Eagles), George Hawkins (Fleetwood Mac, Kenny Loggins), and Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger).

Fast forward to today – fans around the world were asking via Social Media if and when the band would record again. Overwhelmed by the worldwide interest, Tommy and Bruce entered Addiction Sound Studios in Nashville this January armed with great new songs and the new  King Of Hearts  band including bassist John Patitucci (Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock), drummer Keith Carlock (Steely Dan, Toto) and producer, songwriter, arranger and keyboardist, CJ Vanston (Toto, Spinal Tap).

The new album was recorded the way all great records are made – real instruments, real talent, and recording together in a real studio to create “real music.”  The response from the music community has been overwhelming. Some of today’s most respected studio musicians and a growing list of legendary artists are adding their talents to the album including Timothy B Schmit (Eagles), Bill Champlin and Peter Cetera (Chicago), Fee Waybill (Tubes) and more.
